Paint It Black has always been one of my favorite Rolling Stones songs. I was raised on ’60s music, it’s in my blood.

But these lyrics feel different now:

I look inside myself and see my heart is black,
I see my red door and must have it painted black...


I lost my mom to cancer 11 years ago. She wasn’t just my mother — she was a true friend and one of my biggest supporters in both art and music. Every July, the grief and frustration return.

I’ve spent my life painting worlds in color…
But some things demand a darker palette.

This cover comes from a raw, emotional place.. a broken heart, a heavy spirit, and a need to scream it all out.

Full of raw emotion — frustration, grief, all channeled into a darker, more intense sound.

For anyone who’s walked through darkness and still kept going: this one’s for you. You’re not alone.
