Haydn was the main influence for Beethoven, while Pachelbel and Buxtehude inspired Bach. We are shaped by the social networks around us; it's futile and childish to pretend otherwise. We embrace our influences because they have made us who we are, thanks to those who came before us. Following this line of thought, it makes perfect sense that Thilo wanted to pay homage to Running Wild. Rolf Kasparek’s band is not only part of his life but also a significant influence on us. Thus, "H.M.J" was born, heavily infused with maritime imagery and a celebration of heavy metal culture.
The titular "Heavy Metal Jesus" likely represents Rolf Kasparek, the leader of Running Wild, who embodies the ideals of the genre—strength, freedom, and rebellion. By calling him "Heavy Metal Jesus," Thilo Herrmann elevates Kasparek, suggesting that he is a guiding force or spiritual leader within the heavy metal community.
