Acid Black Cherry
Acid Black Cherry (ABC) is the solo project of Yasu, former vocalist of the Japanese rock band Janne Da Arc. Founded in Osaka in 2007, ABC quickly rose to prominence in the Japanese music scene with a distinct blend of hard rock, alternative and progressive rock, and J‑Rock sensibility.
Since debuting with SPELL MAGIC in July 2007, Yasu has released multiple chart‑topping singles and albums. His style moves fluidly between intense, heavy‑rock driven tracks and heartfelt, melodic ballads, often exploring themes of love, darkness, and mystery. The Recreation cover albums add another layer—jazz‑inspired reinterpretations of classic Japanese songs with Yasu’s own twist.
Origin & Background: Yasu hails from Hirakata in Osaka Prefecture, Japan. ABC emerged after Janne Da Arc went on hiatus, giving Yasu full creative control over his solo musical journey.
