AFI

Formed in 1991, AFI began as a hardcore punk outfit from Northern California, steadily transforming their sound across more than three decades. Their early sound was rooted in fast, no‑frills punk. By the early 2000s, they had incorporated emo and post‑hardcore elements, breaking through with the critically acclaimed album Sing the Sorrow. Their later work blends gothic rock, new wave, alternative rock, and electronic aesthetics, showcasing a band unafraid to evolve.
